Sunmi Kim is a Korean visual artist whose meditative work evokes encounter and the art of living together. With the help of red threads that she sometimes inserts under the surface of her paintings, she never ceases to weave links between her inner self and space. Her character, like her work, radiates her empathy and gentleness in the face of the trials she has overcome in her life.
Strongly marked by the serious accident she had as a child and where she was close to death, and by the flight of her family to escape the political violence of her childhood, her work is anchored around this link that the artist recreates between her inner world and the beings who surround her.
