About

In September 2016, Orie and Christophe Duplay founded a contemporary art gallery dedicated to promoting emerging Korean artists: “ARTSKOKO, Korean Connection”, now known as Galerie ARTSKOCO.
From its inception, their project was selected by the prestigious Luxembourg ART WEEK, a fair in which the gallery has participated every year since.

The selected artists are split evenly between Korean artists residing in Europe and those personally discovered by Orie in her native Korea during art fairs in Seoul, Busan, or Gwangju, or through recommendations.

These artists all stand out through their highly individual techniques, ranging from traditional lacquer and ink painting to cutting-edge digital art.

The gallery is located in the founders’ own home in Merl Belair, which was redesigned to host exhibitions—about half a dozen per year. Over the gallery’s first ten years, nearly 60 events have been held, around forty of which are featured under the “Exhibitions” tab. Each exhibition includes a two- to three-day preview and vernissage, attended by the artist.

The gallery occasionally invites a non-Korean artist to exhibit alongside a Korean artist around a shared theme and/or in a venue downtown. However, under Orie’s direction, the gallery’s identity remains firmly rooted in a clear focus on Korean art and culture.
